Girl's Girl

It didn't surprise me to find out the diva was a former cheerleader.  The stereotype fits.  It wasn't true in all cases when I went to school.  There were a few that were actually nice to a dork like me and even talked to me.  Others?  Not so much.  It wasn't really the cheerleaders who were so bad.  It was the pom pom girls.  They irritated the hell out of me and they really didn't do much.  They just did this kind of skippity dance that anyone could do. I was actually going to try out in the 9th grade and I twisted my back funny.  It was all my dancing at Studio 54 I guess.   Yeah.  I'm feeling better after I got my feelings out an hour ago.  Stupid neighbor.  Stupid people. The cheerleaders did flips and more athletic stuff where the pom pom girls acted like they were super models.  I could see the diva being a pom pom ding dong. The diva used to tell me she's a girls girl and we should all watch out for ...

Talk to Me

I don't know why this is bothering me today.  This is something that's just hitting a nerve for some reason. Today when I went for my walk, I saw my next door neighbor.  He actually lives a block over with his girlfriend but he still comes over to get away from her and her mother.  Sounds like a swell guy right?  He can be a crab and has been weird with us over the years.  Lately he's gotten weirder.  I actually saw him one night kitty corner from the street I was going to walk down.  I saw him turn his back at the corner.  I thought is it because he sees me?  Sure enough when I crossed the street and headed east, I turned at one point and saw him cross the street.  Ok.  All I would have said was hello.  Is that such an awful thing? Today, when I stepped out, I said hey, Dave and walked past.  He saw me and never said anything.  The guys have a security camera on the garage so they might get a chuckle hearing me say, ...

And it Gets Stranger

Now Mandela Barnes is out of the race for governor.  Damn.  I didn't realize my mom had called me on my walk.  I have my phone in my pocket.  I'm thinking about what I need, getting it and getting out.  I was more surprised that there's a scandal of sexual misconduct and financial issues.  I asked my mom, Is that why he talked to us?  Was he hitting on you?  My mom has that affect on younger men, I guess. Still shaking my head over the weird dream.  I know I was relieved when I woke up and found out it was a dream.  Yeah. I was a please pick me girl for a long time.  Now I don't care.  Now I'm a Oh.  You noticed that I exist?  Cool. Tonight on my walk I got the attention I didn't want.  I got asked if I ever went into this bar.  Some guy was trying to find a bar to hang out.  I had my ear buds in and shook my head.  I saw him walk past me when I headed back. I saw him go into Ope! and hoped he stay...

What a Strange Weird Day

I woke up this morning from a really weird dream.  I think I was in San Diego and I was getting off the elevator with my stuff when I was greeted by a bunch of people.  Harold was in the group. I think a classmate from school was there too.  When I got settled into my hotel room, Harold was sitting next to me on the bed and showed me a ring.  He whispered, I'm going to marry you.  Here's the funny part, his wife came into my room carrying a suitcase.  I whispered I love you before she came in. Then they all left.  I showed up at some event that they had late and sat at a table with Harold and his wife and some of their friends.  I didn't sit near them. I watched them as they were being celebrated by someone.  I think it was a faith event which sounds insane because Harold is probably an atheist.  Weird. What does it mean?  I have no idea.  No. I don't love him.  I think his wife would beat the snot out of me if I ever even...

Will she or won't she? A Tale of the Diva

Yesterday, we met up at our usual time.  The diva and her new bestie presented the project that they're working on and presented to the group.  It was nice.  I kind of suspected the bestie did the heavy lifting.   There is a part where it was mentioned that they would be recruiting others to help on the project or get their ideas.  I thought welp.  Leaves me out.  The diva will make sure I stay out of it unless she's forced into it.  I really hope that it doesn't get forced.   Thanks for thinking of me, but have you met the diva?  She won't like it and will make sure I don't get to say a word either.  It really sucks that I get treated like this.  I help someone and they walk over me.  I get treated like I'm weak in public situations by her and it pisses me off but I have to watch my words because the diva is an actress and the tears might flow.  I'll look like the worse person in the world.  I've been ...

Yeah. Not Looking Forward to the Day

I think I'll be ok by lunch time.  Yeah, yeah, meeting with the artist formerly known as the stomper this morning.  Let this be painless and let me not get mad at her not listening to me when I answer her questions. I really tried. I really tried to understand and show grace to the stomper.  Funny thing is that I'm the last person who trusted the stomper.  I showed a lot of grace.  I think it's because we were at the same level initially.  Sometimes when a person rises above that level, they really do think they're above you. Years ago, one of our law clerks came back to work with us as an attorney. I was excited to see her because we were friendly and I went to her going away lunch.  Initially she was really decent to me.  Later?  She was rude and really didn't want to people in my position.  I heard her make a comment to her assistant about how touchy we all are.  I thought don't speak for me.  I saw her on more the one occas...

Another Sticky Day

I will not be dripping on the sidewalks of West Allis today.  No thanks.  I'm over this month. August brings more hot weather but it sometimes teases us with a little cool weather.  Fall teasers and I'm here for it.  I know September and October can have hot days but it's not as often as good old sticky July.  I'm always happy to dump this month.  Bye bye. I'm full of anxiety and I don't know why. I missed a day and I don't think it'll be a big deal.  I think I'm just nervous about tomorrow.  I don't want to deal with the stomper anymore.  I'm doing better and actually feeling ok about things. I got asked about our group dynamic and I did say yeah.  Things weren't great due to one person who is no longer here but I think it has improved.  Does the diva still irritate me?  Yes.  Do I think Regina is going to the new person to make shady comments about me and others?  Yes. I don't think it'll be handled the same way as ...

A Hot Day in Whitefish Bay

I didn't realize we were under a heat advisory today.  I thought it was for tomorrow.  My mistake.  No wonder I felt like my clothes melted onto me this morning.   I wanted to go back to the pet store in Glendale this morning and I didn't realize it didn't open until 10 so I walked down Silver Spring Drive on the mean streets of Whitefish Bay.  It was kind of quaint and really humid.  I was just looking at the businesses they had.  I looked up the nail place they had on my phone.  Too pricey.  I appreciated the bench I could sit down on and look for a moment. Glad when I got home and hopefully my choice of dry food for the Queen will be sufficient. Well boo!  I have to work a full week.  And the next couple of weeks.  Considering the weather today, I think I'm really ok with being indoors until this crap ends.  I even pulled the curtain in my room to keep the heat out because I think the central air is working o...

Promise Me

I did my walk in the afternoon. I drove to where I do my walk near Lake Michigan and I forgot something was going on when I saw that traffic was a lot.  It was some type of air show that's going on today as well.  I found a spot to park and I walked for about an hour. I saw a lot of people walking who would say hello to me and I did the same with a smile.  People were friendly and excited.  I watched a little bit of it when I got to the point where I could see.  There was some helicopter hanging over the water.  I could definitely hear airplanes going when I continued walking.  I didn't do the hill for obvious reasons.  Plenty of people parked with their chairs, food trucks, all type of things going on.  I did my walk and left. I noticed that Brady Street was closed off as well when I took city streets home. I forgot that it was probably Brady Street days.  I think there was a bike race going on in Riverwest.  Lots of things going o...

Sleeping In

Looks like my mom is sleeping in. Sigh.  I am mad.  I'm not mad if that makes sense. I tried to wake her up at 9.  I thought she would get up but she hasn't gotten up.  I was going to do it at 9:30 but I thought screw it.  I'll try at 10 am. I thought I heard her up around 5 this morning. I was awake and looked at my watch.  I thought can't she sleep? I thought maybe she would be up when I finally got up around 5:30.  No.  She went back to sleep.  It made me wonder if she had a bad night of sleep so I can't fault her if she needs more time. No. I don't need to drive to the east side at this moment.  This is why I do leave early in the mornings because she really doesn't get up and around until after 10.  I normally get home around noon or beforehand and then whatever errands we need to do, we get it done in the afternoon so it's fine with me.   She wanted to go early and get it done.  That doesn't seem to be happening...

New Schedule

My mom and I are going to do our grocery shopping early and I will go over to the east side for my walk.  Last weekend I thought no, I'll just go do some errands on the southeast side of town.  Wound up with a nail in my tire. I can wind up with a nail on the east side too.  I'm superstitious.   My mom had said once we get the Walmart delivery set up, I'll have more time to bum around on the weekends.  I told her um, I don't have anywhere to go on the weekends.  My dance card is not full so it doesn't bother me that we go do our thing with grocery shopping.  We plan on doing this every other week so we'll still go.  It just won't be as often. I still hate that they closed the Walmart grocery store in our neighborhood.  That has really been a bitch for us since they did that a few years ago.  I don't dislike the Greendale one.  I hate going there some days. Their pharmacy has actually been one of the better pharmacies I've dealt...

Take Your Wins

I kind of suspect that the monster is under house arrest.  I saw that he was on the website but it had electronic monitoring.  I suppose his fancy lawyer was able to get him to stay at home.  I was hoping to find a mug shot.  I don't know if I should tell my mom.   I'm not disappointed that he has house arrest.  Yes, he never left the house but he also can't smoke weed and he also has to behave himself.  He also has to have something on his ankle and nobody tells him what to do.  I noticed he incurred more court fees.  Good.  Can I add to it?  I'll take that win.  He has to do what the court says.  It took the people a few years to finally get him and they did.  I didn't expect jail time so I was pleasantly surprised. I know he won't behave.   It is what it is. I dislike that saying but yeah, it's fine.  My mom thought we were terrible for snickering about his predicament.  I said no....

End of the Week

I was up at 4 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep until the alarm went off at 5. I did doze for a half hour so technically I lost a half hour of sleep.  I'm ok with that. I really wasn't upset about anything.  Maybe I was anxious for the day.  I don't know. I thought if I have a little bit of problem with sleep, I'll sleep better tonight. I am anxious about the primary here in a few weeks. I worry if people don't get their way with their choice, they will sit out the election.  I'm sick of the childishness that goes on with the elections.  That hurts all of us.  I'm fine with Francesca Hong but if she doesn't win the primary, I am worried people will have a tantrum and stay home.  We can't afford Tom Tiffany.   I had stepped away yesterday and saw an exchange between Regina and the diva about something I knew about.  Regina was asking questions and the diva was taking lead.  She was going to show Regina because I showed her....

How Expectations Change

Would I like to find the great love of my life?  Yeah.  Of course I would.  Do I think it will happen?  I don't know. I woke up this morning and daydreamed about being with someone and having a hooky day.  Kind of cooler out this morning.  Great day to stay in bed for awhile. Yeah. I still have fire in my heart for that.  I'm not dead inside for crying out loud. My reality?  I would like to get a text from a friend about their morning.  I know I spout I want someone to talk to about my problems!  WAAAHHH!  No.  I really would prefer to listen than to talk about things that frustrate me.  I don't think people got when I went through cancer treatment that I'd rather hear about some of the things in their life than my own at times.  I don't want to hear stupid shallow stuff like My kid doesn't chicken parm tonight!  Looking at you Lois when I mention that.   I would like to hear from someone and find out h...

Another 3 Day Week

I'm not sure why I have anxiety so bad this morning.  I have off on Friday as well.  I had off yesterday so not sure what fun will be awaiting me.   I can't believe the monster was finally held accountable for his crimes.  There's a lot more that he did but this is a good start.  I really suspect that the witness list that got filed was a wake up call that more people were going to come forward about what he did.  What a horrible person.  I hope his girlfriend leaves him.  I do feel sorry for his family because it sounded like they're all respectable and decent people.   My mom wants to make a go of it living here by getting the Walmart delivery this winter.  I never even thought of it.  After her stint in the hospital, it probably isn't a good idea for her to be out in any cold weather.  I don't want to risk it.  I hate dragging water from the car up those horrible stairs.  I can deal with it if she can dea...

Better Day

My mom is soaking up the joy of the monster going to jail.  She is having a good time making fun of his future ankle bracelet.   She doesn't have to go back to the eye doctor for a year.  The eye doctor recommended the cataract surgery for her again.  She is hesitant but I said I can take leave if she wants to go through with it.  I get it.  I would like it if I had reconstruction surgery to feel sort of normal but I'm so terrified of the pain and she can't take care of me.  She could but she sleeps a lot.  I'm joking.  I can't put it on her.  I had enough of people making me feel like a burden if I need to ask anyone for anything. I got my birthday package mailed out for Charlotte today so I felt accomplished.  We are considering a membership with Walmart for our groceries in the winter time.  I think it would be a good deal. It would make life easier. I guess the real joy came with the monster's verdict.  I think it...

There is Some Justice

Today, the monster got what he deserved.  Jail.  Not as much as we would like but he finally is being held accountable.    Court orders the following as to Count 1: IMPOSED AND STAYED: 3.5 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT (Credit: 0 Days) 1.5 YEARS OF INITIAL CONFINEMENT 2 YEARS OF EXTENDED SUPERVISION Defendant is not eligible for Challenge Incarceration Program. I want to have a non social media relationship or friendship. Or something off the grid

I'll say it again.  Social media sucks. I would like a friendship that doesn't involve social media.  No social media allowed in this friendship.  We go to movies.  We text.  We may hang out.  We may take pictures of the fun we have but we don't put it on the internet.  No. No. F No.  NO!   We're above that.  We poke fun at social media morons. What is prompting me to say this?  It's nothing out of the ordinary. I conducted a little social media experiment this morning and shared my experience about the tire.  I shared that I was happy with the guy at Walmart Automotive Center being helpful and how overwhelming it is when you're a solo ager. I got likes and a love.  I was curious to hear if there were responses.  Nope!  If it were me, I would say hey, if you need help like that, you can DM me.  Maybe I can find a place that has good prices. Even Corinne liked it.  I think she loved it. Not mad....

Reason #257 for why I have anxiety issues

I have to get my mom up and going in like a few minutes. I tried waking her up around 7.  She has an eye doctor appointment and it'll take me a good half hour or more to get there.  She said that she didn't sleep very well so I thought maybe it'll take her about 20 minutes to get up and around.  Nope.  Went back to sleep. She used to work third shift doing factory work so her sleep rhythms are off on top of it.  She said once she worked third shift her sleep never became right.  I heard the same from Harold when he worked third shift.  He's a lazy ass, but I get it.  Sleep is off when you spend some time working while others are sleeping. She wasn't feeling so hot last night.  She thought she was getting a sore throat.  I thought oh no.  I don't know if I can take her getting something like covid a respiratory infection. I'm not mad at her.  I'm so frustrated that a lot of things are left on me to figure out. I'm leaving my pre...

Spoiler Alert for the Day

I had a flat tire.  That's why the light went on.  The air pressure wasn't low.  It was low in one specific tire though due to the nail that was in it.  Damn. I was driving down National Avenue and I thought why does it sound like something is flapping in the wind?  The grocery store was only blocks away so I thought good time to check.   Yep.  It was the back end of the passenger side.  I managed to find my way through my insurance's road side assistance.  I thought it was going to be an hour before the guy got there so I went in and got kitty litter for the queen.  He was there.  I felt like a dumb ass. Nice kid fixed my tire.  I hate that stupid tiny tire they give you as a spare.  He asked me Am I going to get a new tire right away?  I said Yeah.  Probably Firestone.  He told me about his experiences with getting tires and how people tried to push more on him.  He gave me advice about a couple ...

Switching up Plans and Knowing when to Follow

Normally I would be dust in the wind by 8:10 this morning.  We went to Walmart this morning on a quest for cheddar bratwurst.  Very Wisconsin.  I was fine that we did our shopping early.  I will go out soon and take care of some errands.  I doubt I'll be walking in this weather.  If I do, it'll be a stroll around the block and back to my car.  We weren't sure about the air quality but it seems to have improved greatly. We did our errands, got our prescriptions and headed home.  There seems to be this little David Spade character at Wal-Mart that seems to be quite the helper when I'm using do it yourself check out.  My mom thinks he has a crush on me. I think he's just a nice person.  Who has a wife.  Newsflash, mom.  Try again.  As hard as it is to believe, some people are just nice. I wanted to drive by the nail salon that looked interesting on the east side. I think it's new so I wanted to see it for myself before I made...

Had Enough

Glad the week is over.  I think I just had enough. Today, I wished for my own place.  Well a place for me and mom.  And Precious.  I was annoyed when I came back from the store at lunch.  Charlie was home and he was doing yard work. I felt like an intruder when I pulled into the garage.  I hadn't expected him to come out before I got home.  I didn't know what to do. I hated it. I felt like I was the intruder.   He's just awkward and I shouldn't be mad or annoyed. I think he's very shy and doesn't know what to say to either of us.  He talked to my brother in-law. I just joked I accidentally hit a garbage can and I usually hit ours.  He just told me to leave the garage door open.  Like a dad. I can't talk to him about the bath tub.  We're worried about a rent increase and my mom will lose her mind and so will I if we have someone replace that bath tub.  I just wished I lived somewhere else today.  The guys aren't b...

Smoky but Better Day

Not fun to be part of global warming but here we are with another smoky day.  I went to the store real quick yesterday and had a mask on for the short time I was out.  I feel bad for anyone that has to be outdoors.  This is insane.  I have a feeling it'll be like this for a few days until Monday when we get rain.  Yeah.  I'm tired of upside down world. I hated I had bad feelings this week about someone.  There are some things that would horrify people if I put it all down.  It's complicated and yet, I feel bad when I have those thoughts because I do care. I do love the person. I don't think they want what's best for me.  It's like I said.  Complicated.   I have good hopes for my daily life. I don't think I'll be left on an island like I was before. I don't think I'll feel shamed like I was before.  Despite the diva and Regina, I might not feel the same way like I did before.  I think someone sees with more clarity tha...

Tough Day on the Emotions

Well it was more like a tough night on the emotions.  The day went just fine.  It was the night when you think you can relax and you see what's happening in the news. You don't even have to turn on the news.  You can just take a peek at Threads and see what's happening. I'm so sick of the 2020 election lying.  Now two good senators from Georgia are going to be called illegitimate.  Sigh.  I think that just broke me.  When does this stop? I remember that election and getting excited that there was a possibility that Georgia could go to these two really decent humans.  My mom had left me a note that Jon Ossoff's race wasn't called yet but was leaning towards him.  Then we had January 6th to take it away. The first time I ever text banked was for Raphael Warnock's re-election.  I was so excited when they called the race for him.   I'm just tired of lying being acceptable.  It got to me last night.  They flood the z...

A Win

My mom was trying to get something out from the passenger seat this weekend.  She said it felt like I dropped a bottle of lotion and she couldn't get it out.  She could see it. I didn't think anything of it until yesterday. I wondered what it was so when I pulled into the parking lot at Walmart, I walked around to the side of the car and tried to see what it was. It was my Airpods.  I'll be damned.  I thought I lost them in the parking lot at West Allis Memorial three months ago.  I was convinced someone had them and I was just plain out of luck.   They work.  I was worried if I charged them, it might not work being that it sat in my car for three months. I feel like a diva for complaining that I lost them.  I had them for four years and I worried that maybe I'd lose them.  I thought well.  I had four years.  Maybe I can get another pair.  I have alternatives but they weren't the same. It was a big deal.  I was ...

My Fellow Journalist

Sometimes the internet isn't all bad.  I'm not referring to the news about Lindsay Graham.  That?  I'm surprised.  This is more about social media, I guess. I have one classmate who generally makes me laugh unexpectedly at his posts.  He's in the military and in southern California.  His wife was a former CSI agent?  I'm not sure but they're both wicked smart.  He seems to have quite the life and is probably one of the nicest classmates I've had.  Yesterday, he got to take a tour of the Brady Bunch house and it was just a good laugh to see him standing on those stairs where all the kids posed at the opening of the show.    It wasn't his post that caught my attention though.  It was the person that commented that caught my attention.   Jared Shue.  I'm going with that alias.  I hadn't heard that name in years.  I clicked on his page to see what he was up to and I was disgusted.  He's a MAGA lover an...

Posting from a Lonely Kid

On the day that Stephen Colbert's show ended, I made a post on Facebook with a picture of Letterman and Colbert.  I rarely post on Facebook and I didn't realize that I should have made my settings private. I know a few of my classmates were Letterman fans and anyone who is still a social media friend is not a fan of the current administration.   I did it as kind of a therapy thing. I wish I would have realized that I made it public.  I put up a picture of Letterman and Colbert from the top of the Ed Sullivan theatre after they pitched office furniture off of it as the show was ending. This was what my post said: As a lonely kid, I would spend my summers staying up late to watch David Letterman's show.  Sometimes I would do it during school nights.  That explains the black circles under my eyes since the age of 17.  And I wasn't sure about Stephen Colbert since I didn't watch The Colbert Report.  Letterman taught me how to be a smart ass grow...

Find Me at the Post Office

Looks like I'll be back at the Shorewood post office this morning.  I can't believe I got to go over to the east side to find stupid post card stamps.  Yeah.  That officially makes me sound like a nerd.  I went to the Bay View post office yesterday morning to see if I could find them.  They've been my second go to post office and nope.  They sold out. I suspect because the prices are going up as of Sunday that people stocked up.  Am I the only nerd writing postcards to voters?  Maybe not. It's fine. I thought I could check it off my to do list.  That was probably the only thing on my to do list other than to stock up food for the queen.  I'll be there this morning after I get my walk in.  My mom had put another mirror in the bathroom to help her see.  I was happy to see she took it out yesterday morning. I know with her eyesight, she needs all the help she can get.  She said that she saw her nose and wondered why it was so...

Tired of Asking

I've been a little sad since the Thinker left last week.  I haven't really had anyone to talk to during the day even though I'm probably more productive in some respect.  I did get help in catching up which was great. I hate that I have a horrible time making friends.  It's even worse at my age now. I know I have Corinne but she's also 4 hours away and has a way better life now that she has her person.   Shyness is my enemy and being vulnerable has made me prey for horrible people in my life.  You get to the point where you ask, What's the point?  Everyone is a user.   I hear, Well you need to ask people if you want to get together.  I HAVE!  MILLIONS OF TIMES!  How many times do I need to ask?  I would ask Cassie if she wanted to meet for Starbucks when I would be downtown for an appointment.  She was only blocks away and I wouldn't hear from her until after my appointment that she was busy.  There have been ple...

Maga cruelty

I didn't realize that when I post something on Facebook that I should change my settings to private. I  came across this yesterday when I realized my post about Stephen Colbert's show was ending.  It had been shared 19 times and I thought wow.  Why would people do that?  I think most of it was positive.  People weren't happy.  One person shared with the caption Letterman is an idiot. Well he wouldn't disagree.  It was just kind of jarring to have someone take a post that talked about my loneliness and how I found comfort in watching these shows growing up.  It just felt so cruel.  I can't take it personal.  This is the internet. Really.  Anyone who is off social media is my hero.  I'm not on much myself and this will definitely help keep me off for my own sanity. People are just cruel.

Saying the Awkward Part out loud - being written off

It's really hurt me in my lifetime that I got written off by people that I wouldn't amount to anything good. I wouldn't have a good job. I wouldn't get married.  I wouldn't have kids.  I fought hard to show them.  I showed them that they were right. Sigh. I'll say what was so painful about my last visit with my soon to be ex doctor.  He brought up my least favorite exam in the world that tests if you have cervical cervix.  Because I'm not engaging in the activity that might prompt it, I am exempt a few years from it.  I don't really have a party for it but hey, I'm ok with it. He brought up I'll only have to have it a few more times and then I'm done because of my age.  I know after a certain age, my mom was told that she didn't need mammograms anymore. Do I care if I get to end that exam in the next few years?  No.  Not at all.   Did he say it in a real smirky way that made it sound condescending? Yeah.  He did. He embarrassed...

Another 3 Day Week

I had a moment of panic this morning. I was worried I didn't see my transaction from Panera Bread deducted from my checking account. I paid with Paypal which would take me to my checking account.  I thought did I hit one of the credit cards I had on accident?  I didn't.  Thank god.  I'd be making some phone calls and apologies today for that if I did.  Note to self - delete any credit card I have with Paypal so I don't have the heart failure again.   It'll be weird not have the Thinker around.  I'll be alone with my thoughts again.  Oh well.  I didn't always agree with the Thinker and how she handled things but it was nice having someone who has on the same wave length as me.  She was the one that told me how the diva bragged up the lurker and Regina to corporate higher ups.  I wasn't shocked but I admitted she had some issues with treating me funny.  There's other people who are nice but I got to keep some things to mysel...

Another Day to Chill

I'm so thankful.  I needed this. I have a hair cut this morning and later, I'll take my mom to city hall to drop off her ballot for the primary.  Not a lot to do today and I'm ok with that.  I'll have off of on Friday so another fast and furious week.  I'll deal. I read the polls for Wisconsin governor and Mandela and Francesca both have a good chance at beating Tom Tiffany.  You can't help but like Mandela when you meet him.  You want to adopt him and I gave my word.  I voted for him.  I'll vote for Fran if she's the winner.  I like Fran too.
