In the Neighborhood for the Post office

My mom finally got her Homestead paperwork straightened out. I offered to take it over to the West Milwaukee post office this week and she said it could wait until Saturday morning.  I said you want me to go to the Shorewood post office and she said yes. I guess that really is becoming my new hang out.  That's pathetic.

I have become extra superstitious of our mail service since our check got stolen.  It's not the first incident involving mail.  I had my state income tax get lost in the mail and I mailed it right in front of our post office.  I have had other items lost over the years and I had enough.  I don't even want to mail an eBay package there.

I always seem to get a crappy attitude when I've asked about postcard stamps.  No, we don't sell them.  They're not making them anymore.  YES THEY ARE!!!  WTF?  I've had enough of their clerks bitching at me when I have asked for them.

West Milwaukee has been ok but I've had things lost with eBay as well.  And damaged.  They don't bitch at me about postcard stamps but they'll run out.  Better attitude but stock isn't always there.

So it's become part of my morning ritual on Saturdays to go to the post office in Shorewood. Sometimes it's the one by Bayshore Mall.  I mail the stuff I need to get mailed and get the stamps that I need.  I did have a guy yell at me once when he thought I was taking pictures inside but I told him I wasn't.  That was maybe some time ago and I think he retired.  Old crab.  I don't seem to have the problem with mail that I have had when I mail it on my side of town.

I think Lois would probably think I want to see her if she still lived in the area.  No, it's more incentive to go now that she left.  I hope I don't run into anyone I know and get asked Oh, do you live here?  No, my post office sucks so I have to go here.

How do I explain I'm superstitious about my mail?  I can't!

That's my new Saturday hang, I guess.  I can always go visit Mary Jane at Metro Market and watch her run when she sees me.
