So many choices

 I have had the news on all day.  MSNBC all day.  I did not get stressed out once.  Now my big thing is Who's going to be the vice presidential pick?  Meanwhile my mom is on the phone with my cousin yelling about Angelina Jolie.  Want to make my mom go off on a rant?  Bring up Angelina Jolie and digital coupons.  

I'm excited for a vice presidential pick. I like Tim Walz, the governor from Minnesota after he called the Republicans "weird."  Well JD Vance takes it to a whole new level of weird.  I think Walz is adorable and would make a great pick.

Then there's Andy Beshear, the great governor of Kentucky. He's got a nice soft spoken demeanor that would be a great compliment for Kamala's style.

Then you got Mayor Pete.  I would love to see Chasten and Doug waving to their spouses for the State of the Union speech. I love Doug.  He's got his wife's back. I think he's fantastic.  

Then there's Mark Kelly.  I would hate for a senate seat to be up for grabs in a swing state, but he's got amazing credentials and how nice to see Gabi Giffords as second lady.  

The one I'm kind of leaning on is Josh Shapiro.  He's a relatively new governor from Pennsylvania, a former attorney general who sued the Trump administration several times. Two prosecutors and a felon?  That would be amazing.

I think of Charlottesville, the Tree of Life shooting, the hatred towards the Jewish community and think how sweet would it be if we had someone of that faith in the White House?  Yes, we got Doug, but it would be nice if we had even more diversity running our country.  It would make us better.  No, Jewish nor black people nor any race wants to replace hateful white nationalists.

We want to live in a safe country.  We want to feel accepted and know that we can have big dreams when we see people who look like us are in charge of decisions and will want to make our lives better. Joe got the ball rolling, let's see if we can keep it going.

It's not going to be an easy road the next 100 days.  I'm sure there's going to be days I want to watch game shows or listen to them.  I'm kind of excited.

Way Past My Bedtime

 I crashed before Reverend Raphael Warnock's speech.  The power of DVR saved me. I watched it this morning right up to the point where I had to sign in.  It was fantastic.   Hillary was great.  My mom was crying.  It meant a lot to her to have Hillary win that election and she was crushed. The Dark Things

I sometimes wonder about this when I'm in a brooding mood about how I got treated at a low time in my life.  Or lowest. Would people have been relieved if I just died?   Really.  I have thought the answer was yes.  I'm not talking about my family. I am talking about those who made their discomfort known to me.   They could have had some fake ceremony and a moment of silence.  There wouldn't have been a funeral so they could have forgotten about that part.  They would have excelled at pretending to care about my life if I wasn't here. Then, I had to go do something stupid and survive.  How do we deal with that?  My mentor even mentioned to me, well, you know, none of us have dealt with someone being sick.  Oh, should I get a fucking manual for that?  Excuse the F bomb but that was warranted. So Here's the Weekend

 I was having a wishful thinking moment last night when I was writing my postcards.  I was wishing for my imaginary friend that has shades of Stephen Colbert mixed in to show up and go for a walk on this humid July night.  We would talk and maybe check out the food trucks that were at the Farmer's Market last night.  Maybe they would be ok.  Maybe they wouldn't.  We would be getting out of the house and just talking about how our week went for both of us. Maybe we would stop at Pick n' Save and get my mom something she asked for.  He would always know how to talk to my mom and he would be someone she's really comfortable around like Charlie.  We would maybe see Charlie mowing the lawn on his usual Friday night task and talk to him.
