All is Quiet except for a purring cat

My mom seems to be doing better and that's a good thing.  Glad she's sleeping. Her sleep can be erratic.  Sometimes she's up before me but she'll sleep during the day.  Right now, she's sleeping.  She has fibromyalgia and many people think that's a made up disease.  Is being an a-hole a made up a disease because I think some people need a prescription.

We had a goofy managing attorney who made all of us legal assistants sit through audits with attorneys. I got pulled into one for an attorney I wasn't assigned to and we went over a list of his files and he explained them to the loony tunes manager and I would maybe have to add or change numbers on the file on the worth.  On the last file, the attorney mentioned that the plaintiff had fibromyalgia and the looney tunes manager asked if she was fat and had cats.  The attorney laughed.  When I mentioned to someone else that it was offensive, the person told me, well, they don't know that your mom has fibromyalgia.  Oh that makes it ok to say stupid stuff then.  My mistake.  No my mom's not fat.  We did have a cat that would have fit the fat part at the time.  Jerks.

She was doing more research on finding rentals and she kept asking me about addresses north that were near Highway 100.  I am thinking it might be in the Wauwatosa - Milwaukee border, I wasn't sure. I think she would have liked to have driven around today but I reminded her that I got a three day weekend and I'm glad to do more with the extra day.  I was tired after that drive in futility.  Really nice to see the lake when I drove home though.  Next weekend we'll head a little north and see another part of the county or city.

I think the best way we'll find something is a happy accident.  Our previous landlord had owned maybe four or five rentals and that was his retirement income.  He said people never really move because he didn't raise the rent much.  We knew he would have to if he was still our landlord but it wouldn't have been $250 at a time.  It would have been gradual like most semi-normal ones do.

I guess I didn't feel too bad about another nothing drive is when we got home and had a nice talk with our neighbor. I can't tell you how grateful I have been for his friendship and how he helped me that day when I was struggling with shoveling snow.  Then there's the monster.  Two people in their middle 50s are hauling big chunks of ice and shoveling snow while he stands out in the middle of the street and doesn't know what to do with his shovel.  My mom had a few suggestions.  I did actually film some of it because it was so funny watching him and my mom's commentary was hysterical.  My mom would shovel if she would but because of the ice that day, I told her I don't even want to see her outside.  The day that the monster showed his first signs of being a psychopath, she was outside cleaning up the recycling bins while he told her that he would have shoveled that night.  He never did.  He's so damn lazy.  We'll have that garbage can outside our door for months because it's too hard for him to push back down by the garage.

We just have some grocery shopping today, not a lot and I'm ok with that.  I will gladly drive my mom anywhere she wants to go next weekend. It was kind of cool to see neighborhoods I haven't really driven by before.  It made me appreciate Milwaukee more.  My mom gets benefits from the county as a senior and she said she is reluctant to leave Milwaukee county because then that's a whole other headache.

I will do my best to find us a place in Milwaukee county. Doesn't matter if it's St. Francis or Wauwatosa, well maybe the border of Milwaukee, we'll keep looking.

Hope for the best.
