Downtown Sunday

I have two eyebrows and I'm pretty happy.  It wasn't as bad as I make my eyebrows out.  I like that I got a lot of material to work with when it comes to a brow but geezus on the maintenance part.  I know during Covid I drew blood trying to clean mine up.  I can do other parts of me with a dermaplanning tool or special razors in my own Grey Gardens spa, but the brows need a second set of eyes or I'll be looking like I had an industrial accident with them.

I didn't see too many biker dudes in the downtown area when I finished.  I walked over to Wisconsin Avenue to see what was new.  It's been a long time and I knew there was a Kohls store that opened up last fall.

I was underwhelmed by the store. I think it's nice that they had the store but I thought there were going to be other levels.  It just looked bland like TJ Maxx. I never understood the appeal of TJ Maxx.  That's a garbage store.

My first job out of college was working for a law firm a few blocks away.  It was a horrible job but it was so much fun to go downtown during lunch and eat at the food court and maybe do some shopping.  I remember Boston Store being a big deal back then.  I don't miss Boston Store. I guess I expected Kohls to have the same vibe that Boston Store had.  I'm happy that the downtown area has a Kohls but it was a Meh.  I'm good and walk out moment.

I was so happy when I found out that we were going to move to a building in Milwaukee.  I was so lonely for downtown, especially at lunch.  There was nothing out in Pewaukee and I hated walking through the industrial park.  Nobody seemed to care that there were people on the road walking.

I am ok that I don't have to go back to the office.  I can get a lot more done even if I feel like I barely got anything done.  Frick would stand at everyone's desk when she flitted in like a half hour late and would stand and chit chat for the first 3 hours.  One day, she sent us all an email that she stayed up late and was at the hospital while her son recovered from surgery so she told all of us she was just going to chill out.  How nice.  I'm taking off because I didn't get enough sleep so I'm going to chill.  Oh, the book of excuses I could write about all the times she didn't show up for work.

Seems to be kind of a weird weather day.  I would have walked more but the humidity got the best of me.

As I was getting closer to Grand Old Grey Gardens, I drove down a street that had a Kamala Harris flag and signs.  I remember being told that my area was kind of half and half for Democrats and Republicans so not horribly shocked to see a flag.  Just shocked at how fast the support is showing.

It's pretty awesome.  100 days to go.  I'm ready for it.
