Democracy is Worth It

 It's been a draining 2022.

In another day, I feel confident that Reverend Raphael Warnock will get a full second term.  That's so insulting who they picked to run against the good reverend.  I just can't.  Especially with the vampires and werewolves.

It didn't turn out all roses for the election, but it was better than I expected.  I text banked for Reverend Warnock towards the end of last week.  Didn't even get upset when people responded that I'm demonizing voter ID.  That elections are frauds.  No.  Please stop saying Fraud.  Nobody stole anything.  Except for the attempt on January 6th.

Each letter I wrote included the sentiment, I vote because democracy matters.  It does.  Joe Biden had it right when this was about the fight for the soul of America.  Especially the last few weeks is a reminder that we need to work to make this a better country and make it safe for communities that are being harassed and are hurting.  The LGBTQIA community.  The Jewish community.  The list can go on and on, but I won't stop writing letters and postcards.  Once I finished with mailing out my letters and postcards, it was kind of like what's next?  What can I do?  I never did text banking and I wanted to help so I volunteered with Vote Riders to help people who might need help about Voter ID.

There's still races in 2023 that will come up.  I can't sit by anymore and just vote. I feel like I got to do more.  Maybe I'm not a person that protests or will run for office, but I'll find something.  I just don't want to sit by when Kanye West sits on Alex Jones and declares his love for Hitler.  That's not ok.

We got to make it Ok.  I want to do my part to make it ok and make it a better place for all of us.  Anyone is welcome in my home except HATE.  That's not ok.
