Primary Decisions

I don't know how the heck to vote for in our August primary for the senate.  Whoever wins, they got my support 150%.

I wish Mandela Barnes would run for a second term as Lieutenant Governor.  He's my natural choice for Senate pick.  Young uprising star in the Democratic primary.  He's going to go places. I kind of wish he would stay on with the governor and maybe run for the governor of our state when Tony Evers no longer wants to run. I want to see more young men of color like Mandela running for higher office.

Then there's Alex Lasry, the businessman.  You'd think I'd say No way to someone in business after Donald Trump.  I read the negatives about Lasry and thought yeah, seems nice, but I'm not so sure.  I read the positives about him as a business person.  Herb Kohl was a business person and he was a fine senator for our state.  I got to admit he's killing me that cute baby in his commercials.  He's nothing like Donald Trump by any means and he would definitely have the financial resources to take on Ron Johnson.  Maybe there would be a fresh perspective if Lasry was the nominee.

Then there's Sarah Godlewski, our state treasurer.  Of course I want a woman in higher office. I voted for Tammy Baldwin every time she ran.  I don't know enough about Godlewski but I will learn more before the primary.

At the end of the day, I'll vote for the primary choice.  I felt bad that I didn't vote for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primary.  I liked the idea of someone like a Barack Obama at the time.  He made me sit up and take notice when he spoke and at the time, he seemed right for the moment and he was.  I gladly supported Hillary in 2016 and would support her in anything.

The problem with a lot of Democrats is that they won't stick together, case in point, AOC.  She frustrated me yesterday with her non committal answer about supporting Biden for a second term. There's a lot she can learn about people from different ages and perspectives.

I agree we need new perspectives, young people, people with different backgrounds.  We also need to have some of the establishment like a Nancy Pelosi to learn how to get things done.  Eventually she'll pass the torch to Hakeem Jefferies, I believe when she won't run for majority leader of the house. Yeah, I know it could be minority too but I'm trying to stay positive.

We just need to stick together in 2022.  I'm behind whoever wins the Democratic Senate ticket.

I'd vote for Alex Lasry's cute baby for Senate if she was running.  I kind of think he's getting me with the baby in the commercial.  Darn you, Eleanor.  You had me when you laughed at Ron Johnson's name.
