I want to dress up

Today, I threw out the make up stash that I had for eBay when I was trying to flip items.  Yeah. I forgot make up had a shelf life even when it's sealed.  I was tossing stuff here and there and finally I dumped it.  I could tell some of the lipsticks were melting when I opened them.  Sigh.  Yeah.  That didn't end well. I made some money but spent more.  It was just a horrible idea. 

I thought what do I know about make up these days?  I don't go to an office.  I do have some glimmer balm from Bobbie Brown that I go to use for days I had meetings to look a little livelier and maybe if I had an appointment.  Other that that, I just make sure I moisturize and use spf.  

I do miss wearing make up but like the make up melting in my closet, a lot of it doesn't have a shelf life.  The thing I love has the shortest - mascara.  I miss wearing mascara.  No, I won't do fake eye lashes.  They look insane on young people and definitely not help with me.  I did better with the eye make up than I did with the other stuff. 

I started adding things on my pinterest account lately.  I have a board dedicated to if I could only wear it.  Pretty dresses or pretty shoes.  It's silly but there are some days I wish I could dress up and go somewhere.  With someone, preferably.  I'd look stupid in an evening gown at a bus stop or at Wal Mart.

I had a nice dress set up for a Valentines Day that went nowhere.  We wound up at Pizza Hut.  Sigh.

Granted, my weight isn't at its best but if I lost some of it, I would love to be able to dress up.  Wear nice shoes.  Feel a little special.  

I used to like helping someone put together an outfit when I sold shoes.  It was a lot of fun helping another person get ready for a special occasion.

I never went to any dances in school.  No proms. I wore a horrible bridesmaid dress for one wedding but never went to any weddings.  I never went anywhere I was supposed to dress nice other than work.  Work sucks.

Sigh.  Kind of sucks when you know some things will never happen.  

I'll go back to my pinterest board and dream.

 I crashed before Reverend Raphael Warnock's speech.  The power of DVR saved me. I watched it this morning right up to the point where I had to sign in.  It was fantastic.   Hillary was great.  My mom was crying.  It meant a lot to her to have Hillary win that election and she was crushed. The Dark Things

I sometimes wonder about this when I'm in a brooding mood about how I got treated at a low time in my life.  Or lowest. Would people have been relieved if I just died?   Really.  I have thought the answer was yes.  I'm not talking about my family. I am talking about those who made their discomfort known to me.   They could have had some fake ceremony and a moment of silence.  There wouldn't have been a funeral so they could have forgotten about that part.  They would have excelled at pretending to care about my life if I wasn't here. Then, I had to go do something stupid and survive.  How do we deal with that?  My mentor even mentioned to me, well, you know, none of us have dealt with someone being sick.  Oh, should I get a fucking manual for that?  Excuse the F bomb but that was warranted. So Here's the Weekend

 I was having a wishful thinking moment last night when I was writing my postcards.  I was wishing for my imaginary friend that has shades of Stephen Colbert mixed in to show up and go for a walk on this humid July night.  We would talk and maybe check out the food trucks that were at the Farmer's Market last night.  Maybe they would be ok.  Maybe they wouldn't.  We would be getting out of the house and just talking about how our week went for both of us. Maybe we would stop at Pick n' Save and get my mom something she asked for.  He would always know how to talk to my mom and he would be someone she's really comfortable around like Charlie.  We would maybe see Charlie mowing the lawn on his usual Friday night task and talk to him.
