All Around Town Today

I was on the move a lot today. I actually got my 10,000 steps when I was done.  It was too messy to walk but I thought I have plenty of stuff to do this morning.  When I talked to my mom, she really didn't want to go anywhere so I thought ok.  I'll keep going with what I need to get done.

I have been worried about my mom the last few weeks with her own mental health.  She had such hopes that we would have a Democrat in office.  The news has just broken her.  It's been a lot this week.  I know before I started my day, I see an alert about Don Lemon being arrested.  FOR WHAT?

I was mad all day. I was ready to call CNN and yell at them but I remembered Don hasn't worked there for awhile.  So I left a message from my congresswoman to please keep him and Georgia Fort and the two other journalists who were arrested.  I just felt like I got to do something.  Say something.  I loved the way Don's husband looked as he held his hand and they went through the crowd.  I thought I want someone to look the way Don Lemon's husband looked.  This is my partner.  Get the F out of our way.  Yes Don Lemon!  Free Don!

I listened to his show from last night. It was short and sweet.  I will make a point to listen to him everyday.  He is doing the work that other journalists should do.  

For the life of me, I can't find the fancy coffee that my mom got from one of the food pantries.  She wanted me to send it to Corinne.  I'm so tired of losing stuff around here or misplacing it.  I mailed the latest package she got and mailed it today.  I'll find the other package.  It was some type of bourbon brand and considering who's in office, it might look extra appealing to have some liquor in  your coffee.  

It appears that the Shorewood post office is now my go to post office on the weekends.  I like West Milwaukee but they seem to be low on the postcard stamps.  I like the idea of sullying Lois' old neighborhood now that she left with my working class ways.  Idiot woman.  I even went to her old library where she used to send me her little snippy IMs.  It's tempting to tell the librarians that they should ban her book but I did not.  I needed to find some state tax forms and took extra because I make mistakes.  I miss the old nail place nearby.  I may work up the nerve to go back this summer.  

I saw a news posting about that sweet little 5 year old Liam and his dad will be and hopefully released soon. I want  all of those kids released.  Why is there a detention center for kids????  Sigh.  This is where I have problems with people thinking it's ok to vote for this.  It's not.

Tomorrow I'll get another Audible credit and the dork in me is excited to download Josh Shapiro's book.  I saw him on Stephen Colbert's show and he's always a good guest.  I realize other liberals are hating on him about his comments regarding Kamala and I'm so sick of it.

Ok, well, how about we talk about Kamala trying to prevent Karen Bass from becoming Joe Biden's vice president pick?  How about we talk about some of the things she did?  I like Kamala and I am aware of some of the things that she did politically that hasn't set well with me.  I think she came into her own when she took over for Joe and I think she did fantastic.  I never saw her and Josh Shapiro as being a good team.  

Democrats have a purity test issue.  Joe Biden has made mistakes.  Barack Obama has made mistakes.  Let's cut it out with the But he or she did this or that!  NOOO!!!  Look at what we got now people?  I don't care who the candidate is, just VOTE!  Get us out of this nightmare!

That being said, I want to listen to Josh's book because he is a good communicator and he does sound like he's done a great job with the state of Pennsylvania.  Do I think he'd make a great president?  Yes!  I think he would be fantastic.  I want to learn more about his story.  I like learning on my own time.

I didn't vote for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 election and I just downloaded his latest book on Audible as well. I want to know about Bernie.    Democrats are their own worst enemy.

Right now, we're considered the enemy.  We got to fix that fast.

Way Past My Bedtime

 I crashed before Reverend Raphael Warnock's speech.  The power of DVR saved me. I watched it this morning right up to the point where I had to sign in.  It was fantastic.   Hillary was great.  My mom was crying.  It meant a lot to her to have Hillary win that election and she was crushed. The Dark Things

I sometimes wonder about this when I'm in a brooding mood about how I got treated at a low time in my life.  Or lowest. Would people have been relieved if I just died?   Really.  I have thought the answer was yes.  I'm not talking about my family. I am talking about those who made their discomfort known to me.   They could have had some fake ceremony and a moment of silence.  There wouldn't have been a funeral so they could have forgotten about that part.  They would have excelled at pretending to care about my life if I wasn't here. Then, I had to go do something stupid and survive.  How do we deal with that?  My mentor even mentioned to me, well, you know, none of us have dealt with someone being sick.  Oh, should I get a fucking manual for that?  Excuse the F bomb but that was warranted. So Here's the Weekend

 I was having a wishful thinking moment last night when I was writing my postcards.  I was wishing for my imaginary friend that has shades of Stephen Colbert mixed in to show up and go for a walk on this humid July night.  We would talk and maybe check out the food trucks that were at the Farmer's Market last night.  Maybe they would be ok.  Maybe they wouldn't.  We would be getting out of the house and just talking about how our week went for both of us. Maybe we would stop at Pick n' Save and get my mom something she asked for.  He would always know how to talk to my mom and he would be someone she's really comfortable around like Charlie.  We would maybe see Charlie mowing the lawn on his usual Friday night task and talk to him.
