Happy Valentine's Day and Fourteen Days Left

Bye bye monster.  Take your lying ass out of here.  I notice they blast their TV louder beneath me.  Joke's on them.  I'm old and tired and can sleep through that.  Temper tantrums and fire crackers?  No.  Loud TVs are what helps me sleep.  Duh.

I suspect it's a shoe string crew and I'm ok with that.  Our new person had a very nice trip planned when she got hired and I hope she's having a good time.  She said she would send me a postcard which I think is very kind.  If I'm ever in Cudahy I'll send her one.

No, I'm not bemoaning I don't have a special someone on Valentine's Day.  I'm hoping to get rid of the menace that's been our toxic relationship downstairs.

Despite my bad Valentines at a Pizza Hut many years ago, I don't hate the day.  I think it's a day that seems kind of forced.  It's like shouldn't you be nice to your significant other every day?  Does it have to be one day?  I don't know what I would like for Valentine's Day.  Be treated nicely.  Receive words of kindness. A hug.  I hate crowds and every bozo would be out at a nice restaurant anyway.  I'd rather do that day on the 15th.  I'd rather have my own Valentine's day where everyone did it the day before.  Yeah.  I know.  This is one of a million reasons why I'm single at my age.

I tried listening to Rachel Maddow and I shut it off yesterday.  I will tune into Jim Acosta's show on Substack or watch a live video of Harry Dunn speaking in Wisconsin.  Get in good trouble, Harry.  What a sweet man.  I am so sick of what happened to him and the other officers.  My mom told me last night that I can watch the news if I wanted.  I didn't have to turn it to a different channel.  I've turned it to these animal planet shows of kittens and puppies.  Last night we watched a home improvement show with Tarek Moussa and his ex-wife and present wife.  I said I don't want to watch the news.  I turn it on for 5 minutes and I'm upset that he's there.  It shouldn't have happened but it did.  It's not ok.  Yesterday I saw online that Nancy Mace is trying to censure Robert Garcia who brilliantly trolled Marjorie Taylor Greene about dick pics by putting up one of Elon Musk's face.  He made a comment about bringing a knife or a gun to a knife fight, I can't remember but the whole thing is stupid.  Nancy Mace wanted to take Jasmine Crockett outside to fight and she's going to censure someone else?  Sit down, Nancy.  It's a new world and I don't think I want to listen to it. 

I try to find the good pieces.  Someone will post about small victories that have happened for the Democrats like they elected a Democrat as mayor in Norman, Oklahoma.  Not sure if I got the name of the city right.  I look for things like that and I'm still working on my postcards for the Supreme Court race in April.  I couldn't take on much but I'm doing what I can and hoping for the best.

It just shouldn't have happened but it did.  I am worried about being able to afford healthcare in the future, but I'm grateful I can afford it this year.  It's no ok that they elected RFK Jr.  I believe in medicine, not his kooky ideas.  

I'm just trying to function in this insane new world order.

I sometimes wonder about this when I'm in a brooding mood about how I got treated at a low time in my life.  Or lowest. We took a drive to see a place in Bay View. I was kind of familiar with the address, but I wasn't sure. I found it.  It was not great. According to my Ring alerts, it's near an area with crime.  It was in our price range. I just can't seem to shake this funk I'm in.

Know Who You Are

 I am struggling a bit with a new work assignment. I've bounced around to working with new groups since the pandemic and it's been alright, but it's been a little difficult with balancing when I just feel off with how much I"m doing.  I have my mojo somedays and somedays I don't know why I gout out of bed.  Today was that day. I got shamed by a mistake.  It wasn't that the person called me, they copied a few people to let me know I. AM. STUPID.  And no, I don't take it personal. It comes with the territory when it comes to the work that I do.  I like being behind the scenes and assisting but it seems to be that my kind can feel the wrath of when things go wrong.  Or sometimes all that we juggle is not enough.  We are the recipient of a bad day if someone has a fight with a spouse or a child and get told, it's better it happened to you than their family member.  Lucky me.
